Bayonne en octobre 2013, Agen, Gonesse, Nantes, Paris, Lille, Ciboure-Socoa et Bordeaux en septembre et octobre 2014 : 62 000 personnes ont déjà visité les Villages des alternatives au changement climatique “Alternatiba”. Près de 1700 bénévoles ont participé à la préparation et à la mise en place de ces 8 premiers Alternatiba auxquels il faut rajouter les milliers d’exposants, intervenants, artistes qui les ont animés. Entre dix et vingt mille personnes ont assisté à leurs conférences et tables rondes sur le dérèglement climatique, sur la COP21, sur les fausses solutions, sur les alternatives et démarches de transition sociale et écologique permettant de “construire un monde meilleur en relevant le défi climatique” comme le résumait la formule de Stéphane Hessel, qui avait accepté de parrainer ce processus Alternatiba.
Déjà 46 Alternatiba au total :
Alternatiba permet aux citoyens de prendre confiance en leur capacité collective de changer les choses, de participer ici et maintenant aux transitions nécessaires pour transformer nos modes de production, de consommation, de transports, d’aménagement du territoire, etc. Bref, de changer de système pour ne pas changer de climat.
La vague Alternatiba s’amplifie donc et va continuer tout au long de l’année 2015, contribuant à la montée en puissance de la mobilisation citoyenne dans la perspective de la COP21, l’important sommet Onusien sur le climat qui se tiendra à Paris fin 2015. 38 autres Alternatiba sont en effet d’ores et déjà en cours de préparation en France, mais également dans plusieurs pays Européens. Presque chaque semaine, un nouvel Alternatiba vient allonger encore cette liste.
Coordination européenne des Alternatiba à Lille
La 4ème Coordination européenne des Alternatiba se réunira à Lille le samedi 25 octobre 2014. Elle analysera les premiers retours d’expérience, mettra en place des temps de formation, travaillera à une promotion massive des alternatives que chacun-e peut renforcer à son niveau, débattra des stratégies de mobilisation citoyenne face à la COP21.
Elle travaillera également sur une grande campagne de communication et de mobilisation citoyenne sur le climat et les alternatives écologiques et sociales, qui sera lancée le 3 décembre 2014 et durera 2 mois.
C’est maintenant qu’il faut agir !
La Coordination Européenne des Alternatiba appelle la population, et en particulier les jeunes générations, à renforcer cette dynamique massive des Alternatiba visant à enclencher sans plus tarder la transition sociale et écologique, seule capable d’empêcher le chaos climatique.

Alternatiba is gaining momentum
Bayonne in October 2013, Agen, Gonesse, Nantes, Paris, Lille, Ciboure-Socoa and Bordeaux in September and October 2014: 62 000 have already visited the villages of alternatives to Climate Change “Alternatiba”. Almost 1700 volunteers have participated in the organization and the set up of these first 8 villages, to whom must be added the thousands of exhibitors, speakers and artists that have helped running them. Between 10 000 and 20 000 people have attended their conferences and round-tables on climate disruption, COP21, false solutions, alternatives and different social and ecological approaches in order to “build a better world by tackling the climate challenge” as Stephane Hessel, sponsor of the Alternatiba process, had put into words.
46 Alternatiba already :
Alternatiba allows citizens to get more confident with their collective ability to change things, to participate here and now in the necessary transitions so as to transform our ways of production, consumption, transports, town and country planning, etc. In short, to change the system and not the climate.
The Alternatiba wave grows bigger and will continue all throughout 2015, contributing to strengthening the citizen mobilization with a view to COP21, the important UNFCCC summit that will take place in Paris in December 2015. 38 others Alternatiba are already being prepared in France, but also in other European countries. Almost every week, new Alternatiba villages add to the list.
European coordination of Alternatiba in Lille
The 4th European Coordination of Alternatiba will meet in Lille on the 25th of October. It will share and analyse the first feedbacks, set up trainings, work on a massive promotion of the alternatives that everyone can practice and strengthen, debate on the strategies of citizen mobilization with regard to the COP21.
It will also work on a broad public awareness-raising and mobilizing campaign on climate and social and economic alternatives, that will be launched on the 3rd of December 2014 and will last for 2 months.
Now is the time to take action !
The European Coordination of Alternatiba calls upon the population, and specifically the young generations, to reinforce this massive dynamic of Alternatiba in order to start already the social and ecological transition that we need to prevent climate chaos.
System change not climate change !
